Successful launch of new ‘Together for Change’ scheme for corporate partnerships

On the last day of our Autism Acceptance Month celebrations, we held a special event to launch our new initiative Together for Change.

Egerton House in Birkenhead was the location, which saw around 75 companies and key stakeholders come together to learn more about this new scheme and the impact we hope it will create.

The aim of Together for Change is to help us build impactful and long-term partnerships with businesses and organisations of all sizes.

What is Together for Change?
Together for Change offers businesses a range of options to work with our charity, from one-time donations and sponsorship opportunities, or through being a longer-term Ambassador or Patron for Change.

The idea is that businesses can celebrate their commitment to our charity through meaningful benefits to their brand, while helping create a better, fairer world for autistic people.

Importance of Pathway to Work
Alongside this, the event told our guests more about how they might get involved in our Pathway to Work programme, which helps autistic people gain meaningful employment in local workplaces.

We were delighted to welcome guest speaker The Right Honourable Sir Robert Buckland KBE KC, author of The Buckland Review of Autism Employment, to the event.

Sir Robert earlier visited our services and enjoyed an afternoon tea at our Bromborough Pool Cafe, before giving his keynote speech about the importance of improving employment outcomes for autistic people.

What happened at the event?
Apart from Sir Robert’s speech, there were presentations from Angie Kemp, our CEO; Lisa Masters, our Head of Fundraising; Colette Griffiths, our Head of Business Development; and Helen Bolton, our Pathway to Work Coordinator.

Helen also led a Q&A about the Pathway to Work scheme with Steven, one of the people we support who is a participant in the scheme, and Niamh Parrington from Eureka! who is a Pathway to Work employer. We also thanked and celebrated all the businesses who have already decided to join Together for Change.
