Our Day Services offer a person-centred, support-led service, with opportunities for autistic individuals to create their own support journey within a nurturing and supportive environment.
Our Living Services provides individualised support for autistic adults in a community setting. Working with registered social landlords, we offer bespoke homes for autistic adults.
Over 30% of autistic people aren’t in employment. Our Pathway to Work programme helps people gain meaningful experience within the workplace with the right support to help them thrive.
Our staff are knowledgeable, experienced, and ready to support autistic people right through their journey with Autism Together. Our team gets to know the person we are supporting, using a holistic strengths based assessment.
Following the assessment, if we can meet the needs of the person, we will recommend an appropriate placement. We will also offer person-centred, autism-specific approaches to support the person in the right service for them.
If you’d like to know more about our assessment and admissions process, you can contact us below.
We recognise that autistic people often have two main areas of difficulty, namely social interaction and communication.
Addressing communication needs and how a person we support interacts with others is a fundamental responsibility of every member of our staff. We take a person-centred approach to communication – acknowledging the importance of getting communication right for individuals and recognising that every autistic person will think and see things differently.
All our staff have been trained in understanding autism, building on this knowledge through regular refresher training given by our expert, in-house, training team. Our BILD-accredited approach – the Autism Together Model – helps staff to implement appropriate strategies and techniques to meet the individual needs of each person we support.
Prior to making enquiries for support, you should have received a care act assessment. If not, you should contact your local authority to request this. The local authorities can see what kind of support you need, and if they are willing to help to fund it. Once you have a Care Act Assessment completed, the following steps can take place…
A telephone triage helps us find out about the person and ask if they have a social worker. We’ll also ask them to complete an ‘Expression of Interest’ form.
Next, the person’s social worker will share their most recent assessment with us.
A tour is then booked to see the service/stream which might best meet the person’s needs and interests.
We will then start the assessment process and ask how that person would like to be involved in their assessment.
If we have assessed we can meet a person's support needs, and a suitable placement is available, then a formal offer is made in writing to the local authority.
If placement within Autism Together is recommended, but currently unavailable, there is the option for the individual to be placed on a waiting list until a suitable placement becomes available - or there is the option to explore other service providers.
Once the local authority has approved our formal offer, a transition meeting is arranged to agree a start date and put the person-centred support package in place.
If you'd like to learn more about the services we offer, please complete our enquiry form.
We aim to get back to enquiries within 3 working days, but sometimes it may take longer.Â
