Visitors loved our heritage tours of Bromborough Pool Village

This autumn we had the pleasure of showing the public around of Bromborough Pool Village.

This included a behind-the-scenes look inside some of our buildings, all as part of this year’s Heritage Open Days…

Each September, Heritage Open Days allows people across the UK the chance to experience hidden history, architecture and culture in their local area – completely free of charge.

We offered guided and self-guided tours of the historic model village – where many of our services are based – opening up to visitors some of the fascinating listed buildings Autism Together owns.

Thanks to positive publicity in the Wirral Globe, Liverpool Echo, and our own social media, the tickets soon sold out – prompting us to put on extra tours!

Along with going behind-the-scenes at the old schoolhouse, church, and main hall; tour guides Mike Christiansen and Martin Gorman took groups to the site of the old Price’s Candles factory, through the woods by the Old Courthouse site, and onto the former Price’s Social Club.

Of course, many of our visitors rounded the visit off nicely with a warming drink and snack at our Bromborough Pool Café.

There was lots of great feedback from our guests who had enjoyed a fantastic and memorable experience, and were very impressed with the knowledge of our guides.
