Get advice & support for autistic individuals

At Autism Together, we understand that every autistic person and every family’s journey is different.

Whether looking for advice & support services, or a chance to meet others in the community, we are here to help. We support people at all stages on their journey with autism – from those starting out on the assessment pathway, to those who have had a diagnosis for many years.

Amy Jones, Autism Together's Advice & Support Officer

In 2025 we appointed a new Advice & Support Officer at Autism Together. Amy Jones is working with and supporting families, and offering advice & support for autistic individuals, in a variety of ways.

Amy has over 19 years’ experience of supporting children, young people, and families in multiple services; including education settings, Youth Justice Service, and local authority social services.

Amy, is able to help people find the answers they need and can signpost to a range of external support, on topics including how to get an autism diagnosis, how to access support for an autistic child, and how to access Autism Together’s services.

You can get in touch with Amy using the Enquiry Form found on the dedicated Advice & Support page on our website.

Amy said: “In my role, I use my communication and people skills, alongside my empathetic nature, to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all the families and people that we support. I am very excited to see how we can develop the service further, to offer a holistic approach to support.”

As part of Amy’s new role she is facilitating a range of events run by Autism Together, offering in-person advice and support to families, alongside activities to keep children active and stimulated.

Coffee Mornings
Amy hosts weekly Coffee Mornings in different venues across Wirral and West Cheshire. These events are aimed at parents and carers of autistic children and adults. It’s a chance to gain advice and support over a nice cuppa, meet other parents/carers and chat with Amy.

Rainbows Groups
For younger children, we have Rainbows Groups. These play-based sessions, are aimed at children under 5-years-old with social and communication difficulties and/or autism. These sessions are based at local Family Hubs and are supported by Amy. They’re a great place to meet other families, build connections, and get advice and support, in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Family Adventures
Amy also hosts and facilitates our Family Adventures. These events are new for 2026 and are held twice a month in partnership with local businesses. The purpose of these free events is to provide a fun day out for families, where they can feel supported, relaxed and meet other families in a fully-inclusive environment. The locations vary each month and, although tickets are limited, we aim to reach as many families as possible throughout the year.

Autism Workshops
Also new for 2026, we have begun a range of autism-specific workshops, aimed at families and carers of autistic children. These aim to increase knowledge and confidence in people, to improve understanding and support for autistic children.

The workshops cover a range of important areas, beginning with a broad overview of autism, alongside autism-specific courses covering communication, sensory needs, behaviours, and co-occurring conditions.
