As an organisation we are proud of the wide range of services we offer.
For many of the people we have supported over the past nearly 60 years, our Residential support is the first service they have accessed.
We provide registered residential care to over 100 people across a wide variety of housing, ranging from two-bed houses in the heart of the community, through to larger homes in rural settings for those with more complex support needs.
Autism Together offers different living environments that can be scaled up or down to meet the needs and wishes of each person accessing the service. All our residential services for autistic adults are registered with, and inspected by, the Care Quality Commission.
What does the Care Quality Commission (CQC) do?
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England, ensuring all services provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. It registers providers, monitors, inspects, and rates services to hold care providers accountable and help the public make informed choices.
Accessing our Residential service
Our Admissions team looks after those coming into our services. A person-centred and comprehensive assessment of each person is completed, taking their support needs, likes and dislikes, accommodation and staffing preferences into account to ensure the placement is right for them. Detailed transition plans are created so any person moving into a service will feel comfortable and have a good understanding of what is happening throughout.
Our autistic adults’ residential services cover locations across Wirral and West Cheshire, providing year-round accommodation and care for adults who require long-term continuity and consistency in their personal support.
These housing and support options allow individuals to receive a comprehensive care package to fully meet their needs. We work with the people we support to help each individual lead as fulfilling a life as possible, involving a full daytime, evening, and weekend programme of support and activity.
Each person is encouraged to increase their independence through diet choices, healthy lifestyles, personal hygiene, and community participation. We tailor our ongoing support through robust and continual assessment, plus regular interviews with individuals and families.
Many people who enter our Residential services also attend our Day Services, giving them access to a range of activities to suit their abilities and interests, helping them learn essential skills and develop their full potential.
In many cases people who at first required the 24-hour care of our Residential service find that, through gaining confidence and life skills via our support, they are ready to gain more independence by transitioning to our Supported Living service.
